Scripture tells us much about the awesome power of the tongue for victory or defeat in our lives. Proverbs 18:21 informs us, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Those who love it will eat of its fruit." In Matthew 12:34 our Savior tells us that, "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." This is why it is so important to monitor our words and thoughts carefully. Just because an unsavory thought enters your mind does make it sin, but if you choose to continue to think on it once you realize its a unacceptable thought isn't right and needs to repented of. The tongue,
So small,
Yet so powerful,
It is a fire,
A world of iniquity,
Brings life or death,
Victory or defeat!
The heart,
Or the mind,
What we think on,
Powerful choices,
Control the tongue,
Produce life or death,
Victory or defeat!
Scripture makes it clear,
Our thoughts make,
Or break us,
That is why,
It’s so important,
To carefully monitor them,
Choosing only pure ones!
Offer no excuses,
Thinking on unholy thoughts,
Speaking impure words,
Brings a curse,
Thinking about holy things,
Speaking life giving words,
Bring a blessing.
